Conner Training Connection

The Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD) receives an annual appropriation from the Iowa Department of Human Services to administer the Conner Training Connection grant. In coordination with Iowa’s Money Follows the Person program, CDD administers the Conner grant to assist individuals with disabilities living in Iowa’s Resource Centers transition to community-based settings. Funds are used for initial essential household set-up costs such as rent, utilities and groceries that the MFP grant cannot cover, and to pay for other needed supports which promote health and reduce social isolation. The grant also funds the publication of Possibilities, an online quarterly newsletter that highlights current disability-related activities through a feature article, and promotes resources available from CDD's Disability Resource Library. The Conner grant also publicizes upcoming disability-related training events through its website and through an email distribution list.
